Metallica finds new fans -custom tees
Metal fans of all ages wear their custom t shirts – just go to any rock concert and look around. Even the groups on stage will be wearing a Metallica tshirt. Why? Because almost all of the metal bands making their names grew up listening to the music CDs of James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.
This band have been together now for over twenty-five years; making the group older than some of the fans wearing the band’s vintage t-shirts. They were founded in Los Angeles in 1981; and the original line-up included Dave Mustaine, now with Megadeath. The friction between James Hetfield and Mustaine added an extra bite to both band’s early music CDs.
An early influence on the band was bassist Cliff Burton; his style created a bridge between Metallica’s early, Thrash metal days, and their later sound. He co-wrote some of Metallica’s songs, including two that were influenced by Burton’s love of H.P. Lovecraft, and some which appeared on their break-through music CD Master of Puppets. Burton was tragically killed in 1986, when the Metallica tour bus skidded, and he was crushed. Despite this setback, the band continued on the path Burton had set; their album Metallica has sold at least 15,000,000 copies, and the album’s CD is still being bought by new fans.
